removing from game question

So we've recently started raiding naxxramas but we've had some confusion with a card:
Interrupt target card. If you do, remove it from the game.

Now I have a paladin tank with Netherbane, reading:
Cards you control can't be removed from game.

So what happens when I play a card? Does the card get interrupted but not removed from game or nothing happens?

Thanks in advance

Since the card hasn't entered play yet, it is not a card you control. Thus, it can be interrupted and removed from the game.
401.1 A player controls his hero, each card he puts into play, and each link he adds to the chain. Cards in other zones have no controller.

Actually, it IS a card you control. Its a link on the chain. Even if you are only playing a normal card, not replying or interrupting a card with an instant, it still goes onto the chain. EVERY card goes onto the chain as it is coming into play. Its just the first link that makes up that chain.

You still control the card, therefore, it can't be removed from the game.
Edit: It is, however, still interrupted.
